About this Position:
My client is a world leader in designing and manufacturing automated machines for producers of fasteners, engine valves, and other high-performance components. We seek a skilled Controls Engineer Contractor to support the development, implementation, and maintenance of advanced control systems that drive our cutting-edge machinery.
Job Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and troubleshoot control systems, including PLC programming, HMI development, and motion control.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical and electrical engineers, to integrate control solutions.

Develop and maintain detailed electrical schematics and control system documentation.

Perform system commissioning, including debugging and optimizing control systems on-site and remotely.

Conduct system testing and validation to ensure compliance with performance and safety standards.

Support machine upgrades, retrofits, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Train maintenance and operational staff on control system functionalities.

Ensure project deliverables meet technical specifications, budget, and schedule requirements.
Experience Required:

Proficiency in PLC programming (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or similar platforms).

Experience with HMI/SCADA development

Strong understanding of industrial communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, Profibus, Modbus, etc.).

Familiarity with electrical design software (AutoCAD Electrical or equivalent).

Proven track record of troubleshooting and problem-solving in automated systems.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.

Excellent communication and technical writing skills.
