About this Position:

My client is a world leader in designing and manufacturing automated machines for producers of fasteners, engine valves, and other high-performance components. We seek a skilled Controls Engineer Contractor to support the development, implementation, and maintenance of advanced control systems that drive our cutting-edge machinery.

Job Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and troubleshoot control systems, including PLC programming, HMI development, and motion control.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical and electrical engineers, to integrate control solutions.

• Develop and maintain detailed electrical schematics and control system documentation.

• Perform system commissioning, including debugging and optimizing control systems on-site and remotely.

• Conduct system testing and validation to ensure compliance with performance and safety standards.

• Support machine upgrades, retrofits, and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Train maintenance and operational staff on control system functionalities.

• Ensure project deliverables meet technical specifications, budget, and schedule requirements.

Experience Required:

• Proficiency in PLC programming (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or similar platforms).

• Experience with HMI/SCADA development

• Strong understanding of industrial communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, Profibus, Modbus, etc.).

• Familiarity with electrical design software (AutoCAD Electrical or equivalent).

• Proven track record of troubleshooting and problem-solving in automated systems.

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.

• Excellent communication and technical writing skills.
