Solution Architect (AI Engineering & Project Management Experience)

Position Overview

We are currently seeking a talented Solution Architect with a strong background in AI engineering and project management. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of technology and leadership—someone who can design, develop, and deliver complex AI solutions while leading cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate is equally skilled at hands-on engineering, strategic planning, and bridging the gap between technical and business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and Design AI Solutions: Lead the design of scalable AI solutions, utilising expertise in Python application development, microservices, and data technologies. Work closely with stakeholders to define technical requirements and align them with business objectives.

• Lead and Manage Teams: Guide cross-functional teams of AI engineers, data scientists, and software developers. Oversee project planning, task delegation, and progress tracking to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality solutions. Mentor and coach team members to foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

• Develop and Implement AI Models: Be hands-on in developing and deploying AI models, particularly those involving large language models (LLMs) and advanced machine learning techniques. Ensure all solutions are production-grade, scalable, and reliable.

• Communicate with Stakeholders: Act as a key liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders. Translate complex technical concepts into business-friendly terms, helping clients and non-technical stakeholders understand the value of AI solutions.

• Ensure Quality and Set Standards: Set high standards for solution design, code quality, and technical excellence. Conduct regular code reviews and provide constructive feedback to elevate team performance and deliverables.

• Drive Innovation and Thought Leadership: Stay on top of the latest developments in AI technology and identify opportunities to innovate. Contribute to the company’s knowledge base and help build a reputation for thought leadership in the AI space.

• Manage Multiple Projects: Oversee and contribute to several projects at once, effectively balancing priorities to achieve successful outcomes across a portfolio of projects.

Key Requirements

• Technical Expertise:

  • Proficient in Python application development and building microservices.
  • Strong background in data technologies (e.g., SQL, NoSQL, data lakes, data pipelines).
  • Hands-on experience with large language models (LLMs) and AI/ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-Learn).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerisation technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

• Leadership and Project Management:

  • Proven experience in managing and leading teams of engineers, data scientists, and technical professionals.
  • Strong project management skills, with experience in agile methodologies and tools (e.g., JIRA, Trello).

• Communication and Strategic Thinking:

  • Excellent ability to articulate a clear vision for AI solutions and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of simplifying complex technical topics for non-experts.

• Coaching and Mentorship:

  • Experience in mentoring, coaching, and supporting the professional development of team members.

• Adaptability and Multitasking:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.

• Passion for AI and Continuous Learning:

  • A genuine passion for AI as a transformative force for good, and a commitment to staying updated on the latest trends and developments in the field.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, Data Science, or a related field.
• Experience developing AI solutions for enterprise-level environments.
• Prior experience in client-facing or consulting roles.
