As we continue our journey to becoming the premier maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) provider in the UK, we are looking for a Lead B1 Aircraft Mechanic to play a pivotal role in our growth. Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance Execution: Carry out maintenance tasks to the highest standards in accordance with approved data. Ensure the accurate and correct completion of STS & Third-Party paperwork.
  • Team Management: Manage and monitor your own bookings and those of your team to ensure efficiency and accuracy. Maintain an acceptable level of <14% daily.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure that all work is performed safely, adhering to Health and Safety, COSHH, and company procedures. Promote a safety culture within the workplace and demonstrate a commitment to reporting safety concerns.
  • Cost Efficiency: Identify and implement cost reduction initiatives within the Birmingham Base Maintenance operations, improving overall efficiencies.
  • Work Environment: Maintain high housekeeping standards within your work area/Hangar, delivering a professional environment that meets internal and external customer expectations.
  • Tool Control: Understand and promote the importance of Tool Control, ensuring all tools are returned to Tool Stores in a timely manner. Adhere to the Lost Tool Procedure.
  • Ground Equipment: Ensure all ground equipment is serviceable before use, and promptly report any defects.
  • Contractor Oversight: Monitor contract staff to ensure they are suitable for employment, and keep the Check Manager informed of their performance.
  • Professional Development: Ensure that engineers on your team are actively completing their passports, assess their development, and support their growth.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Undertake tasks and projects as requested by management.

Skills and Experience:

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of Base Maintenance experience as a B1 and/or B2 mechanic.
  • Preferred Qualification: Current Tier 1 mechanic status is preferable.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of Human Factors, SFAR88, EWIS, and the Company’s SMS Manual and Safety & Quality Policy.
  • Communication: Excellent communication, supervisory, and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility: Ability to adapt to a fast-changing environment and maintain a proactive approach to challenges.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in interpreting Aircraft Structural Drawings and using platforms such as Airbus World & MyBoeingFleet.
