About this position:
Due to my clients’ continued expansion and strong product portfolio across both motorsport and future automotive, we are looking to recruit an Strategic Buyer to support the day to day operations within the Purchasing department. My client is relied upon by many of the world’s top motorsport teams, performance car constructors, and hybrid and electric transportation innovators to extract the performance and reliability they require to get their high-performance transmission challenges done. The role requires a dynamic and energetic buyer capable of solving problems to deliver a solution. You will be working in a fast-paced Purchasing and Operations environment and will need to be capable of being flexible in managing and prioritising a number of challenges. This is a highly varied role where project management, contract knowledge, negotiation and influencing skills will be utilised. This role is an opportunity for a buyer to progress to a new level and you will be supported by a broad depth of experience within the Purchasing team.
Job Responsibilities:
- Required to conduct effective strategic supplier negotiations on costs, and terms effectively in line with department objectives, business plan, procedures and company direction
- To identify and recommend cost reduction opportunities for existing products
- To monitor commodity market trends that can affect material pricing
- To ensure continuity of supply through robust supply chain procedures and strong supplier relationships
- To source new parts as required
Experience Required:
- Strategic thinker
- Ability to manage multiple tasks at any given point
- Strong communicator and confident speaking to internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to hold negotiations and run tenders solely
- Understand end to end purchasing cycle and implement this during working practice
- Ability to adapt to change in demand or business requirements.
- Present and implement effective changes through best practice approaches
- Ability to create strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
