About this position:
Our Aviation Clients design Office holds a number of Regulatory approvals to enable modification of our Products to meet Customer needs and desires.
As such, The Design Office operates within a Quality Management System to ensure its products are cost effective, right first time and meet customer requirements. Additionally, the management system delivers mandatory airworthiness requirements which are subject to regulatory oversight from international bodies.
This role brings together and consolidates a number of tasks currently managed on an ad hoc basis across the department in order to bring improvements to the delivery of design tasks.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage routine reviews of Department Quality Documentation
- Manage the Design Office Quality Management System
- Act as Department Focal Point during Internal and External Quality & Compliance Audits
- Manage resolution of findings
- Conduct root cause analysis
- Organise and participate in Continuous Improvement Events
- Manage the department training plan and coordinate delivery of training with training partners
- Update records in training management system.
- Prepare the Department Training Plan
- Manage the Design Apprenticeship scheme liaising with internal and external stakeholders once in place
Experience Required:
- Understanding of national and international regulatory authorities standards and codes of practice and procedures (UK CAA/UK MAA, BSI, ISO etc)
- Sound understanding of Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001)
- Sound understanding of competency management
- Minimum of 5 years industry related experience in aircraft/rotorcraft engineering or quality management
- A proven track record in the application of quality management systems
