About this position: 

A UK based Formula E Team competing in the FIA Formula E World Championship and is looking to hire a qualified and experienced Race Engineer to be employed full time. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual to thrive in this challenging yet highly rewarding role operating at the heart of the Team.

Job Responsibilities:

• Reporting to the Technical Director, this role has responsibility for managing all engineering aspects of one of the Team’s Formula E cars and drivers at all test, simulator and race events
• Responsible for analysing data alongside various inputs from the supporting engineers and driver, to quickly decide on the vehicle optimisation direction
• Contributing heavily to the development of racing best practices and procedural workflows for all trackside activities to ensure management of the car, mechanics, engineers and driver are extracting the maximum performance possible for the given conditions

Experience Required:

• Excellent and demonstrable engineering ability with at least 5 years relevant experience in race engineering at a high level of motorsport i.e., FE, F1, F2, F3, IndyCar or WEC
• Confidence inspiring driver management skills are a necessity
• In depth knowledge of vehicle dynamics and interaction with electric powertrain control systems
• Vehicle performance development and testing experience
• Proficient with modern data analysis tools
• Perfect planning, communication and organisational skills
• Excellent inter-personal and reporting skills to clearly circulate engineering information
• Ability to remain clear, calm and maintain consistent communication channels at all times
• Demonstrable management ability to lead a small team of mechanics and engineers
