About this position:
We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Production Engineer/ Senior Production Engineer to join a world leading automotive company who are always striving to ensure their products are one of the best in the world. You will be heading up a team of engineers responsible for the introduction of new models into production you will be based within our machine shop team and focused on Crankshaft production. You will support day to day production overcoming any engineering issues that may arise.

Responsibilities:
- Manage the implementation of new workpieces from cradle to grave
- Provide current support to Crankshaft production lines assisting with breakdowns and change over activities
- Consult with design over new models and advise on design for manufacture
- CNC machine programming on a wide range of processes to include
- Use Autocad to produce process sheets
- Create and update routing information
- Maintain tool set packs and assign minimum stock levels
Experience Required:
- Maths and English GCSE grade C or above. HNC in mechanical or
manufacturing engineering or similar practical attainment - Proficient in Microsoft Packages including Excel, Word and Outlook
- Demonstrable ability to read engineering drawings
- Proven Track record programming CNC machines
- Experience of 3D CAD
- Experience of CNC cylindrical grinding
Desirable Skills:
- Previous experience of working within an automotive
/manufacturing environment - Tool room machining experience including manual Lathe, Milling
machine and Surface Grinding - Knowledge of Nitriding process
- Experience in the procurement of machinery and associated regulations
- Experience in gear cutting
- Degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering
