About this position
This company specialises in Special Purpose Machinery, working within the Pharmaceutical, Food & Beverage, Nutrition, and Chemical sector. They are now looking for a Automation Engineer to join their growing team.
Job Responsibilities:
- Writing PLC and HMI code from scratch or based on previous code.
- Update and de-bug existing machine software.
- Work with the other control systems team members in creating and maintaining a “modular” software approach.
- Liaise with the electrical design engineers to ensure that best practice control systems are utilised.
- Provide technical support to customers as and when required by email, phone etc.
- Conduct site visits to assist with commissioning, fault finding etc.
- Complete in-house documentation as part of All-Fill’s commitment to quality such as test plans, validation documents etc.
- Effectively liaise with in-house personnel as required to resolve build and design issues.

Experience Required:
- A recognised qualification in Electronic/Electrical/Control Engineering i.e. BTEC HNC etc.
- Electrical engineering background.
- 5+ years experience in programming special purpose machinery to customer requirements.
- 5+ years using Siemens TIA Portal, Win CC and STEP 7 programming tools.
- 5+ years using Rockwell Factory Talk and RS Logix programming tools.
- Experience of programming Siemens S7 controllers, Siemens TP HMI’s.
- Experience of programming Rockwell CompactLogix, PanelView HMI’s.
- Experience of programming safety PLC’s; Siemens, Rockwell, Pilz etc.
- Experience using Profinet, Profibus, Ethernet IP, RS232/RS485 communications
- Experience setting up and commissioning servo systems for Siemens and Rockwell systems.
- A recognised qualification in Electronic/Electrical/Control Engineering i.e. BTEC HNC etc.
- Electrical engineering background.
- Must hold a valid passport.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Able to use own initiative.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines.
- Prepared to travel to customer/suppliers in the UK and overseas for service, installations and inspections.
