About this position:

We are currently working with a company who is one of the leading suppliers of bespoke test and assembly machines to predominantly the automotive manufacturing industry both here in the UK and world-wide. Due to their success and subsequent organic growth, they now have several exciting and challenging engineering roles that we need to fill.

We have an opportunity for an experienced Software Installations Engineer who would be required to hold technical expertise in software commissioning, to attend customer sites worldwide, to successfully commission special purpose machine tools, from power on through to the final sign off by customer whilst adhering to cost, time and quality objectives. 

You will join an innovative team and there is a fantastic opportunity for you to develop your skills in a highly technical and interesting live manufacturing environment and provide support to our processes.

Job Responsibilities:

Leading a team of commissioning engineers where appropriately required.
Provide single point of contact for Customers.
Responsible for all aspects of PLC software for our bespoke equipment integration, commissioning and installation at our customers manufacturing plants.
Working in multi-disciplinary teams (including with customers engineering teams) you will be required to establish excellent relationships with all key stakeholders (both internal and external).
Assisting customers with any questions, issues, debugging, or troubleshooting regarding software systems and applications.

Experience Required:

Minimum HNC qualifications in Electrical engineering.
Minimum 4 years’ experience in designing and commissioning software for special purpose machine tools in the manufacturing industry.
In-depth PLC & HMI programming experience are essential: preferably using Siemens S5 and S7. Knowledge of servo Drive and Robot programming would be an advantage.
Working knowledge of Electrical, Pneumatic, Hydraulic and mechanical Systems.
