About this position: 

A precision forging and machining company are looking for a Quality Engineer to join their business. They provide specialist capabilities in the manufacture of precision forged gears, shafts and clutches that require minimal machining after forging.

Job Responsibilities:

• Performs system and process audits internally to TS-16949 standard.
• Help manage and maintain the QMS.
• Maintaining customer and engineering standards
• Defines quality planning of products and conducts inspection and approval.
• Help to develops the manufacturing process,
• Assists plant management in tracking process performance.
• Follow quality control objectives as per Automotive Quality Standards. All relevant Procedures must be followed to ensure Customer Satisfaction and achievement of plant objectives.
• Monitors/drive the cost of poor quality through managing and maintaining the scrap reduction
• Carry out 8D investigations / problem-solving

Experience Required:

• Will ideally have three years’ previous experience in a similar role.
• Must have knowledge of automotive industry standards ISO9001 and IATF16949.
• Must have knowledge of the following quality standards and methods: FMEA, 8D and PPAP.
• Will ideally have knowledge of VDA 6.3 standard.
• Be able to travel to customers and suppliers.
