About this position: 

Digital Manufacturing Centre is part of the KW Group and is a company supplying high end quality metal and Polymer additive manufacturing production parts to industry sectors such as Aerospace, Land Transport, Space, Defence and Medical. The DMC is based around engineering innovation and aspires of being the best in class for the UK market in the next 5 years.

This high-end facility offers a range of Polymer and Metal Additive Manufacturing Technologies across industries including Automotive, Space, Defence, Medical & Industrial and they are now at the stage where they are looking for key hires for the facility

As a key member to the DMC local management team you will assist in the development of current and future technology development. 

You will work closely with the operational and sales teams to be focused to align business capability to customer requirements ensuring process control. You will support sales functions to enable the uptake of additive manufacturing within the various targeted sectors.

The new Centre at Silverstone will act as a technology innovation hub, providing access to digital manufacturing capability including a range of additive manufacturing technologies while also allowing SMEs to access knowledge and advice by encouraging an eco-system in digital manufacturing. High-quality incubation space suitable for high-performance technology start-ups in additive are also benefits of the new facility.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Making sure all projects are being managed and on target
  • Assist in developing new opportunities within various sector industries, developing customer’s knowledge of AM and its capabilities
  • Create and manage DMC future technical roadmap including materials and innovation
  • Continually develop process control throughout the processes and ensure processes are documented and part of Business Management System (QMS)
  • Project Management of complex production work, liaising with operations team and communicating project status to customers
  • Create and maintain relationships with the MTC and other relevant academic facilities
  • Ensure we continue to strive for best practice throughout the DMC

Experience Required:

  • Background within high end Technology – Ideally Additive Manufacturing
  • Degree in Relevant Subject (Additive or Mechanical)
  • Experience of Design/Lightweighting across the complete body of a project
  • Project Management
  • Client liaising
